The Georgetown University Journal of Health Sciences and Healthcare Innovators hosted a panel discussion on the Zika virus at Georgetown University on Friday, March 18, 2016 entitled, “The Many Faces of the Zika Virus: Meet the Experts.”

Our panelists provided insight on the biological, political, and epidemiological dimensions of the Zika virus. They also described innovative solutions to combat the virus and how some of the methods being implemented now may prove ineffective.

The discussion made it clear many areas of the healthcare and regulatory system today must be reformed and innovated.

The panelists:

Dr. Anderko is the Scanlon Endowed Chair, Professor, and Director of the Mid-Atlantic Center for Children’s Health and the Environment at the School of Nursing & Health Studies.
